who wants garlic ice cream?

We celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary at Ninnikuya in Kapahulu which is also known as, "The Garlic Restaurant". Its a house-turned-restaurant twith a backyard-BBQ feeling. Very cool.

The menu was super interesting. True to their name, everything we ordered had garlic in it... and I mean everything.
Here's our delicious Caesar salad...

The steak, mash potato, veggies and garlic sizzled a long time on this iron plate. The smell alone could have made us full but eating it was definitely the better choice.

Here's comes the garlic ice cream Yeah!

Cool. No smells, thats good right?
ok the ice cream was really rock hard.

A chisel would have been nice.

The taste was like a semi-sweet frozen milk with a slight garlic after taste.

That slight garlic taste doesn't stay slight for long.

Sheesh. There is no garlic relief in this restaurant... Maybe they should invest on coffee beans for our breathe.

...okay how do we get rid of this ice cream monster...

At least now we can check off "garlic ice-cream" from the list.

Finding the restroom was another adventure. We had to go through the "house", past the kitchen, around the back outside, down the stairs, under the house, between the bamboo walls and down a hall... you'll find it there, no problems.

After the Garlic Restaurant, we went to Hoku's in the Kahala Resort Hotel for some real desserts.

This is our compimentrary dessert. That was sweet.

Happy 2 years.
