PSSR 2012

"Its that time of year again!"

For Gary's PSS-er that sounds mighty familiar... and it should after 15 years!

1998! How amazing is that?

This year, Gary and I reserved my Mom's pool.

I'm starting to enjoy this pool party deal. I love that theres no charge.

The Owen's delicious garlic shrimp
Paloma's pumkin crunch. I wanted to eat this for dinner!

sis. Owen's made these rose pens for everyone even though she wasn't feeling well enough to come. Between her and her husband, they also made the lasgna, garlic shrimp and the salad!

Scott, our opera singer, sang Andre Boccelli songs... in Italian!
The PSS-ers that were present
Last but not least, our group shot.

Looks like we will be making more pool parties in the near future! Hopefully we can do a BBQ one like the one we had a few months ago. (see my November blog, Pool BBQ)

Saichis

Clever little Saichis...

cute story.

Two girls came up with a sleepover plan to allow them to crash our first Bible study with their cousin...

So when I found out, I switched our study day.

The next day, I showed up at the house with a reward. Since their intention was good I decided to take them on a trip to the North Shore!

Might as well, its winter vacation.

But first... I said, lets sit and talk story a bit.

We all sat on the floor and couches... mama, and two more kids joined us. Altogether there was eight.

"Who can tell me what is the theme of the Bible..."

30 minutes later, five of us jumped into the car and off we go!

Ali'i Beach Park... our first stop

Quick story. Check out the island in front. In the ancient Hawaii, there was a man who once lived on goat island. He had two mistresses. One on each side of the island. When the King heard of this, he was sentenced to death. The man got a lawyer and the lawyer said his island wasn't part of the kings and thus became king of his own island. True story as far as I know.

the worse ding

The worst ding I've ever done and its my brother's board. It was only in the water 3x.

It was low tide. I jumped into the water and landed hard on a rock. I still surfed. Not quite knowing the extent of the damage.

Later, I examined the damage. OMG!!! I felt like I hit daddy's car and now I have to tell him...

I called my brother as soon as I got to the car... He just asked how bad. I said bad. Then he offered to pay half for another board. I was more upset than him! Some guys on the beach saw the ding and were like, naw, just pay 25-50 to pop it out and redo it.

THEN, later that week... This happens...

This is actually my board. Its my favorite board. I was looking for any dings or cracks to patch up. And my cat decides to create one. She jumped on it but as she jumped off... well the rest is history. WAAAH.
Not a good week.

panini time

Va-la! Welcome to our home!

Help yourself to some hot pressed melted goodness!

First you need to chose your bread. Try my favorite Japanese square white bread or Boudin's famous sourdough or just do a good old fashion French bread.

Last time we fed the c/o we did a mini taco bar. This time we didn't know what to do. So we decided to do a panini bar since we had a lot of meat in the freezer, incl smoked meat from the Big island.

We invited all those who were out that day.

we had some paninis already made for the mamas, and for the adventurous ones we had a line up of choices such as meatball marinara, grilled sausages, fried smoked pipikaula with onions, ham, spinach and different varieties of cheese.

hold the press!

Since our whole field service group was there, the c/o conducted the afternoon group in our house. It was an awesome privilege.

Jamie from Lanai, who stayed with us for the week.

Next time lets try a sushi bar!

Skies the limit!!!

Kellys shower

For Kelly's shower I made a homemade card that reminded me of her.

Bring in a picture and write a memory of her on it!

Surprise! We're in the kitchen!!!

KELLY: "Look Babe."

The photo book I made when Mario surfed with us.

Memory magnets!!! What a clever little game! Each magnet represents a funny story Kelly shared with many of us. The game is to guess the story of your magnet or pay the penalty by telling your joke.
