Day 1 Welcome to Berlin

It was Saturday, July fourth 09 when we left Honolulu for Berlin, Germany. We went through LAX to NY then NY to Tegal-Berlin.

Instead of sleeping, Gary and I played inflight trivia games against each other and other passengers.
Gary won... STUCK.

We arrived Monday morning (from Saturday night). Someone on our flight was so motion sick from a previous flight that the pilot had to report the incident. When our plane landed, we were asked by the German Authorities to stay put. We were then escorted to an isolated area airplane and all. Apparently Germany thought we had the SWINE FLU! we were quarantined! Through my window, I saw the military and people in masks and bright body suits.

Remetta, Germany's special guest, was put in a bright orange body suit and taken away. Imagine arriving sick in a foreign country, being escorted off a plane in a body suit, taken to a hospital without her wallet, cell phone or any ID and no money either.

Finally freedom!

BRD, the Federal Republic of Germany.

We met our first German witnesses. They gave us such a warm welcome after a very tiresome flight.

Wow there's "Aloha" in Germany!
